In August 2005, AOK decided to fill a gap in the education marketplace by developing and delivering CPD for secondary school teachers that not only concentrated on what the teachers do in the classroom but also is subject specific. To achieve this, AOK employ highly qualified teachers, normally with SQA experience. We now deliver CPD on most subjects and, more recently, on the Curriculum for Excellence (CfE).
AOK has invested in a custom built training facility in Glasgow city centre. The room has 16 high specification networked Personal Computers, all with fast Internet access. There is also a trainers PC, a large screen and a Smartboard Interactive whiteboard. The vast majority of our CPD courses take place here.
On average, we deliver “face to face” CPD to 1000 teachers per year. In addition, we travel to schools and colleges to deliver “in house” training.
Since March 2008, AOK Learning has been an Approved SQA Centre and more recently an ILA (Individual Learning Account) provider. We work closely with these organisations to ensure we always provide up to the minute training using the latest technologies, where appropriate
