John McFarlane has 28 years experience as a teacher of Physical Education with 16 years as Head of department in two different local authorities.
He has produced exemplars for use by teachers, piloted Standard Grade and Higher Physical Education, has been a Moderator for the SQA assessing teachers delivering practical performance for Higher and has held posts with Alcohol Focus Scotland and both North and South Lanarkshire Councils.

Teaching Higher Physical Education
Thursday 23rd February 2012 - FULLY BOOKED 09.30 - 15.30 £159 plus VAT
This course is primarily for those teachers who are embarking on Higher PE for the first time and require assistance in exploring various ways to deliver the elements within the higher.
The day will consist of:
- Assessing, marking and cross marking NABS
- Marking a question from a past paper and comparing results to National Standards
- Taking a look at planning the academic year, prelim preparation and exam preparation
- A Selection of practical activities to deliver the four elements required in the exam at higher level
- Evaluating the best methods of delivery for your higher clients in a school setting
