Science departments have now reached the stage where serious consideration has to be given to the new National 4 and 5 qualifications. This course is designed to allow Physics, Chemistry and Biology teachers to discuss their implementation plans for the transition from standard grade and intermediate courses and to look, in depth, at all the necessary preparations.

The course will include:

  •  a close examination of all relevant SQA documentation
  •  coming to a common understanding of all that is involved
  •  identifying differences from S Grade and Intermediate courses
  •  a particular emphasis on assessment, recording and reporting
  •  a chance to look at, and share,  resources already available
  •  time to share good ideas
  •  Internal moderation requirements and procedures.
Previous attendees have commented:
